Marketplace Ministry

I have pondered the practice of christianity in the marketplace for many months. Apart from spending time with God, my typical daily routine is to focus secular activities as top priority and wonder how I can be salt and light in His ministry in the left-over time.

The revelation received this morning is simply: Transform Lives, Reshape The World.

Our colleagues, customers and suppliers in our jobs take up 70-80% of interaction-time within a typical day. Jesus' ministry was established in the marketplace whereby He met needs in every man or woman that he interacted. Jesus already showed us the way: touch soul, transformed lives and impacted the world.

The truth inside us is the seed we need to release, and trust God to supply the abundant seeds of truth, finance, healing, etc. in our lives (God challenges us in Malachi 3:10 on finances, the same principle will apply in other areas when we start to release).

Dear heavenly father, you treasure my life so much you placed Jesus on the cross to redeem me for greater purposes. You made me in you image and your LIKENESS. Anoint greater measure of your spirit and wisdom today and I will exercise it to the maximum upon my family, friends, colleagues, customers and suppliers in your truth. You are a God who calls things that were not in existence, I now apply the same principle and I profess my marketplace ministry will no longer the same: saving souls, healing the sick, breaking the bondage of hopelessness and fear, witnessing of the holy fire. Revive my spiritual life today in Jesus' name. Amen.

Kingdom - King's Domain

In the book of Genesis we learned that we are created in the image of God with His likeness and given the power and authority to rule over every creatures (Gen 1:26). Adam didn't rule over his household and fall into satan's scheme. Through God's redemption plan, Jesus came and took back the authority and power from satan.

It sounds like a well-known Christian story happened in the past. But satan is trying very hard to trick the Christians today on God's ultimate plan, to redeem you and me.

Hosea 4:6 explains why many Christians lead miserable lives without experiencing the abundant life Jesus promised - LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. The knowledge and understanding of God:
- We are created in His likeness and image (wisdom, creative power and confidence)
- We are created to rule (family, work and ministry)
- Jesus exchange His riches to be poor and took away our sins, illness, etc on the cross (righteousness, health, etc)
- Through the lives of Moses, Joseph, Abraham, Job, etc to reveal His power and glory that we are never alone on planet earth, with the help of Holy Spirit

We must be imitators of Jesus, speak God's words and claim our promises EVEN the situation does not seem to be in our favour. In Mark 4:35-40, we learn:
- A goal is defines by Jesus ("Let us go over to the other side")
- Disciples were disturbed when they experienced signs of danger
- Disciples wake up Jesus and complained about His attitude
- Jesus commended the storm "Quiet, Be still" and highlight disciples' lack in faith

Abba father, we thank you for your grace to be your sons and daughters. I will confess your truth and release your power in every situation in my life. Release your wisdom today to help me in my understanding of your words and able to apply my faith to the maximum. Heb 6:12 promises my kingdom inheritance if I put my faith and patience together through the partnership of the Holy Spirit. I'm your chosen priest and the perfect creation by your hand and I shall be the head and not the tail in every domain I'm responsible. Amen.

Excited Faith [Extract from Charles Capps]

Mark 4:29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come

When you have the full manifestation of the mature fruit, then the harvest is mature. Many people get excited about faith. Sometimes those who get excited go out beyond their level of faith.

That's what happened to Peter when he jumped out of the boat to walk on the water. He was not ready for water-walking faith. But he saw Jesus walking on the water. Peter in his excitement said, "Lord, if it be You, bid me to come"

What could Jesus say? He couldn't say, "No, it's not Me. Forget it, Peter, you're not ready to walk on water" Anything He said other than "come" would have been a lie. Even if He didn't answer at all, it would still have been a lie, for it really was Jesus. All Jesus did was answer Peter's question when he said, "Come"

Peter did walk on the water. But his faith was not developed to the point that he was able to hold fast to that Word of faith ["Come"]; he became involved with the circumstances. When he did, he began to sink. Faith left him. Many people have gotten excited about faith because of some story someone told. They said, "This is the way it happened to me, and it all worked out good" But that person was operating at his level of development. It may be disastrous for you to do the same thing.

Peter got excited and tried to operate beyond his level of faith. Jesus didn't intend for that to happen. Peter forced Him into it. You may have done the same thing. You said "Lord, if it's your will for me to do this, then let this other thing happen to prove Your will".

It was God's will for you to do that, but it wasn't God's will for the other to happen. You forced God into a bad situation. You painted yourself into a corner, so to speak.
