God's Destiny Part 3 of 3 - S'pore

It is apparent that for Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew has exhibited the Cyrus anointing on many occasions. He has yet to know the Lord, but has insituted policies totally in line with God's destiny for Singapore, in particluar the dual calling of Singapore:

Singapore with a GO calling [to bring the good news and blessings in Christ to the nations] as well as a COME calling [to encourage the nations to come to Singapore, and through Singapore, to be a blessing to the nations]

Many years ago, he instituted the second language policy in schools whereby every student must be proficient in the mother tongue. This has equipped a whole generation who are able to converse in Mandarin, Tamil or Malay. The Chinese in Singapore are better equipped than most nations to be a blessing to the people in China. This is the GO call for Singapore.

In recent years Mr Lee has been strongly encouraging international companies and well-educated, skilled foreigners to come to Singapore and make contributions to the nation. This is the COME call for Singapore. In this way, all the nations of the world can actually participate in the God-given destiny for Singapore, to be the Antioch of Asia.

In more recent times, Mr Lee has made trips to Russia [known as the Iron Curtain] to promote trade with Russia.

God's Destiny Part 2 of 3 Cyrus Anointing

Isa 45: 1-4 This is what the LORD says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armour, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honour, though you do not acknowledge me.

The first person pronoun "I" refers to God and not Cyrus. Cyrus was a mere instrument in God's hand. God gave Cyrus, who did not know the God of Israel, this anointing. Cyrus, the king of Persia made a decree that was fully in line with God's purposes:
2 Chron 36:23 This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: "The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jeruslaem in Judah. Anyone of his people among you - may the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up."

Cyrus acknowledges that it is God who appointed him to build the temple in Jersualem. This is indeed an amazing statement from a foreign king who usually would destroy all the deities of their captives.

God's Destiny Part 1 of 3

Exo 14:1-4, 27-28 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. Pharoah will think, "The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert... And I will harden Pharoah's heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharoah and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD." So the Israelites did this ... Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the LORD swept them into the sea. The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen - the entire army of Pharoah that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

The question : Why did God harden Pharoah's heart?
The Bible records very clearly that Pharoah hardened his heart repeatedly before the Lord hardened Pharoah's heart. The first reference in Exo 7:8-13, and others:
Exo 7:22 First plague (blood)
Exo 8:15 Second plague (frogs)
Exo 8:19 Third plague (gnats)
Exo 8:32 Fourth plague (flies)

It was only after Pharoah had repeatedly hardened his heart that God hardened Pharoah's heart [Exo 9:12, 10:1 and so on]

It is also true today. We will harden our hearts if we do not listen and obey His Word and His Voice.

Heb 3:7-8 Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert.

A person will harden his heart each time he chooses to disobey God. If he continues to do this, a time will come when God will withdraw His Spirit from that person, i.e. the Holy Spirit will no longer try to convict the person of sin. Without the Holy Spirit's conviction of sins, the person's heart becomes hardened "by God".

Hedging Our Family

A close ex-worker's marriage is on the rock. Husband came from a dysfunctional family and having an affair with his female boss, but refuse to divorce. The couple lives separate lives under one roof for the sake of the kids. However, the kids are watching confrontations of their parents every other days..

It seems too commonly acceptable that couples quarrel in homes. Long working hours and tiring bodies stretch the emotional distance and intimacy. Desire for loving words may end up in verbal or physical fights. The same generation curse is passing from generation to generation.

Our compromising attitude and roots of sin direct our destiny in life. Only God's truth will light up the darkness of our hearts and correct out paths. Without presence of love, Satan's sinful business thrives.

1 Cor 13 teaches much on the subject of love. Love conquers all tough issues in life and bonds all family members in unity. Fortify the fence of our families with greater measure of love and seek wisdom (James 1:5) as He is the strength (Neh 8:10) and joy in our lives.

Ask

Re-post from aDevotion.org on 12 Nov

MATTHEW 7:7-8 NIV
7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to
him who knocks, the door will be opened.

In Matthew 15:22-28 a woman came to Jesus making a request of
Him. Jesus' answer was basically that she was asking for
something that did not belong to her, because she did not have
a covenant with God.

Yet she asked -- and received! She didn't just beg. She
worshiped Jesus and appealed for mercy. She didn't claim she
deserved the answer -- but she did ask.

This is one of the secrets of life. Ask! It works with God and
it works in our relationships with people, too.

Ask questions. And ask for help.

Pride can prevent us from asking. Pride tells. Humility asks.

In marriage many people are unhappy. Yet they don't clearly
communicate to their spouse what it is they would like. Don't
nag! But respectfully and lovingly ask for what you desire.

Make your requests known. People can't read your mind. (God
knows our thoughts, but still tells us to ask Him for what we
need or desire.)

PHILIPPIANS 4:6 NKJ
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made
known to God;

Many people stumble through life disappointed that God has not
given them more. One reason may be because God is waiting for
them to have enough faith to ask Him for His help.

I don't mean we should act like a beggar. But be bold in asking
for what you need or desire.

We may hold back from asking because we think we don't deserve
good things. Probably true! But Jesus deserves good and He died
so we could receive what He deserves. Jesus took what we
deserved so we could have better.

MATTHEW 21:22 NIV
22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in
prayer."

JOHN 16:24 NIV
24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask
and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

JAMES 4:2 NLT
2 You want what you don't have, so you scheme and kill to get
it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can't get it,
so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you
don't have what you want because you don't ask God for it.

Jesus said to ask. Actually, it is a command. Ask!

SAY THIS: I will obey God's Word and ask.

Too Much of Good Thing - Neil Anderson

Most of us won't often be tempted to commit obvious sins such as armed robbery, murder, or rape.
Satan is too clever and subtle for that. He knows that we will recognize the flagrant wrong in such temptations and refuse to act on them. Instead, his tactic is to entice us to push something good beyond the boundary of the will of God until it becomes sin. He treats us like the proverbial frog in the pot of water: gradually turning up the heat of temptation, hoping we don't notice that we are approaching the boundary of God's will and jump out before something good becomes sin.

1 Cor 6:12  All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.  Paul saw nothing but green lights in every direction of the Christian life. Everything is good and lawful for us because we are free from sin and no longer under the condemnation of the law. But he also knew that if we irresponsibly floorboard our lives in any of these good and lawful directions we will eventually run the red light of God's will, and that's sin.

So reflect on the following that can take the good things that God created beyond the boundary of God's will :
1.  physical rest becomes laziness
2.  quietness becomes noncommunication
3.  ability to profit becomes avarice and greed
4.  enjoyment of life becomes intemperence
5.  physical pleasure becomes sensuality
6.  interest in the possessions of others becomes covetousness
7.  enjoyment of food becomes gluttony
8.  self-care becomes selfishness
9.  self-respect becomes conceit
10 communication becomes gossip
11 cautiousness becomes unbelief
12 positiveness becomes insensitivity
13 anger becomes rage and bad temper
14 lovingkindness becomes overprotection
15 judgement becomes criticism
16 same-sex friendship becomes homosexuality
17 sexual freedom becomes immorality
18 conscientiousness becomes perfectionism
19 generosity becomes wastefulness
20 self-protection becomes dishonesty
21 carefulness becomes fear

Recipe of Breakthroughs in Life

Follow the Leader (John 10:1-18)
Jesus is the ultimate leader in every successful project/business. He leads and protects the sheep. Thus opportunities lead us into success and not be driven to failure and strife.

Prepare the Good Soil (Gen 26:1-29)
* Establish altar within us and strong foundation within our family - what values have we planted in our wife and kids' lives?
* Dig the wells and/or Un-block the wells enemy stopped the living water Jesus promised (John 4:13) - the well of the living water in our hearts today is full of deceits and wrong values deposited by the enemy.
* Prophesy God's favors over everything in our lives - we reap what we sow.

Release the Project/Business into Jesus's Hand (Luke 5:1-11)
* Put kingdom priority & principle at work - Jesus' preaching followed by Peter's big catch. Our secular work or business is a mean to support our own kingdom work.
* The good shepherd will bless the project/business for greater purposes of seeds.

Sowing the Seeds and Reap Hundredfold (Matthew 13:1-9)
Maximum returns come from good soil under good care through hard labour and good supply of living water. Are we the spiritual farmer standing on the land and hoping God does all the farming jobs, or we first do all the necessary tasks as any good farmers and decree success?

Be blessed.

Evergreen Leaves and Evergreen Lives

Chanced upon the basic principal of kingdom truth through the simple teaching on "leaves":

Jer 17:7-8
".. blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Psa 1:3
He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Ezk 47:12
".. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them.."

Be blessed.

Mobile Phones vs the Bible

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

- What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
- What if we flipped through it several time a day?
- What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
- What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
- What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
- What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
- What if we used it when we traveled?
- What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!

Faith

An old topic, but ever refreshing to re-learn.

Rom 4:13-15 says "It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, because law brings wrath.."

We are the spiritual offspring of Abraham, so we have the promise through faith.

Rom 10:6-11 says "But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?" (that is, to bring Christ down) "or 'Who will descend into the deep?" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

With our faith, Jesus doesn't need to be present to save us. It's the confession of our faith through our mouth that will save us! Because God releases His words when we follow the formula: Faith + Action (confession through mouth) = Blessing.

Psa 107:20 says "He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave."

But why we do not see the manifestation?

Jesus rebuke the disciples in Mat 16:8 "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?". Living in the instant-noodle age, we often want to bypass the hard labour and receive the fruits instantly.

The seed of faith is in the words, we need to decree the words often through the mouth and grow our faith despite the circumstances. Holy Spirit is the key driver of our faith walk in all seasons.

Blessings.

For Your Living ABC

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to the all-knowing God
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
eXalting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.

The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and peace be with you forever, Amen.

Taking the Risk - Neil Anderson

Stepping out in faith is a risk, but life is a risk

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach out for another is to risk involvement
To expose feelings to another is to risk exposing your true self
To place your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss
To love is to risk not being loved in return
To live is to risk dying
To hope is to risk despair
To try is to risk failure

But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.

Rev 21:7-8  He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will by My son.
But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

We would expect murderers, sorcerers, and idolaters to be on the list, but how many would guess that the list would be headed by cowardly and unbelieving? God does not look with favour on those who limp along in unbelief and never take the risk of living by faith because of fear of failure. It is the mark of a Spirit-filled Christian to be strong in the Lord and courageous.

The Greater One Is In You

Rom 8:11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. [Amplified Bible]

Extract from adevotion.org 10/8 post:

1 JOHN 4:4 NASB
4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them;
because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the
world.

There are two vital points in this verse, which is addressed to
believers. (If you have not welcomed Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit into your life -- none of this applies to you.)

FIRST, God is IN you -- not far off somewhere.

Yes, God is in Heaven -- but that is not the only place He is.
By the Holy Spirit, God now has His dwelling place in you! You
don't have to "try to reach God." He is right there! What you
need to do is to cultivate an awareness of His presence. This,
along with communication, is the way to develop a closer
relationship with God.

Knowing that God lives in you, and that He loves you, should
banish all fear from your life. Fear of failure should have no
place. Fear of what other people think should not bother you.
Fear of problems that may come up should be of no concern. You
have God living in you!

2 CORINTHIANS 6:16 LB
16 And what union can there be between God's temple and idols?
For you are God's temple, the home of the living God, and God
has said of you, "I will live in them and walk among them, and
I will be their God and they shall be my people."

SECOND, God, Who is within you, is greater. Greater than any
problem. Greater than any difficulty. Greater than the devil.
Greater than anything you will ever face.

1 JOHN 4:4 ICB
4 My dear children, you belong to God. So you have defeated
them because God's Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the
devil, who is in the world.

This is the Word of God. We must embrace it and live in the
light of it. We must meditate on it and speak it. We must
resist any contrary thought the enemy might try to place in our
thinking.

SAY THIS: God, Who is in me, is greater than anything I will
ever face. The Greater One is in me.

We Are A Purpose-Built Generation

Follow on the previous blog on the topic of Salvation, Jesus constantly reminded his disciples (disciple = the discipline one) about the Kingdom. Jesus himself carried the cross to fulfill His mission to free you and me.

Why we need to be freed?

From the secular perspective, we are taught that our finance holds the key to happy life - money will pay off troubles and buy things we desire. In the process of fulfilling our "dream life", we fall into all kinds of miseries and corrupt lifestyle. Jesus came to save us from the fallen world, free us from the bondage of the darkness and put us back into the light.

How can I transform my wretched life to an abundant one?

We always want instant answer and result. Faith and patience are two key ingredients in every victory (Heb 6:12). Faith is the key foundation in our victorious lives and it births Patience in the process (Heb 11:1, 11:6, Rom 10:17, 2 Co 4:16-18).

Only through the renewal of our minds, we uncover the roots of our sins, rebellion and iniquity that hinder our success in life. As faith and hope increase within us, our friends and relatives will notice the change and wonder why.

I have Jesus in my heart, what is the purpose of my life on earth? How can I handle work and ministry work?

Mat 6:19-21 and 16:19 reveals God's views on our dilemma. The marketplace is the ministry, Jesus was the full-time marketplace minister.

Abba Father, we declare our birthrights as the sons and daughters of the Most High God. You have revealed your purpose in us and grant us the daily wisdom to exercise our faith pertaining your kingdom advancement. We are holding the keys of your Throne and our confession of Your words are binding our finance, health, job and family in the heaven by releasing our faith. We thank you for your grace and praise your name forever. In Jesus name. Amen.

Marketplace Ministry

I have pondered the practice of christianity in the marketplace for many months. Apart from spending time with God, my typical daily routine is to focus secular activities as top priority and wonder how I can be salt and light in His ministry in the left-over time.

The revelation received this morning is simply: Transform Lives, Reshape The World.

Our colleagues, customers and suppliers in our jobs take up 70-80% of interaction-time within a typical day. Jesus' ministry was established in the marketplace whereby He met needs in every man or woman that he interacted. Jesus already showed us the way: touch soul, transformed lives and impacted the world.

The truth inside us is the seed we need to release, and trust God to supply the abundant seeds of truth, finance, healing, etc. in our lives (God challenges us in Malachi 3:10 on finances, the same principle will apply in other areas when we start to release).

Dear heavenly father, you treasure my life so much you placed Jesus on the cross to redeem me for greater purposes. You made me in you image and your LIKENESS. Anoint greater measure of your spirit and wisdom today and I will exercise it to the maximum upon my family, friends, colleagues, customers and suppliers in your truth. You are a God who calls things that were not in existence, I now apply the same principle and I profess my marketplace ministry will no longer the same: saving souls, healing the sick, breaking the bondage of hopelessness and fear, witnessing of the holy fire. Revive my spiritual life today in Jesus' name. Amen.

Kingdom - King's Domain

In the book of Genesis we learned that we are created in the image of God with His likeness and given the power and authority to rule over every creatures (Gen 1:26). Adam didn't rule over his household and fall into satan's scheme. Through God's redemption plan, Jesus came and took back the authority and power from satan.

It sounds like a well-known Christian story happened in the past. But satan is trying very hard to trick the Christians today on God's ultimate plan, to redeem you and me.

Hosea 4:6 explains why many Christians lead miserable lives without experiencing the abundant life Jesus promised - LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. The knowledge and understanding of God:
- We are created in His likeness and image (wisdom, creative power and confidence)
- We are created to rule (family, work and ministry)
- Jesus exchange His riches to be poor and took away our sins, illness, etc on the cross (righteousness, health, etc)
- Through the lives of Moses, Joseph, Abraham, Job, etc to reveal His power and glory that we are never alone on planet earth, with the help of Holy Spirit

We must be imitators of Jesus, speak God's words and claim our promises EVEN the situation does not seem to be in our favour. In Mark 4:35-40, we learn:
- A goal is defines by Jesus ("Let us go over to the other side")
- Disciples were disturbed when they experienced signs of danger
- Disciples wake up Jesus and complained about His attitude
- Jesus commended the storm "Quiet, Be still" and highlight disciples' lack in faith

Abba father, we thank you for your grace to be your sons and daughters. I will confess your truth and release your power in every situation in my life. Release your wisdom today to help me in my understanding of your words and able to apply my faith to the maximum. Heb 6:12 promises my kingdom inheritance if I put my faith and patience together through the partnership of the Holy Spirit. I'm your chosen priest and the perfect creation by your hand and I shall be the head and not the tail in every domain I'm responsible. Amen.

Excited Faith [Extract from Charles Capps]

Mark 4:29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come

When you have the full manifestation of the mature fruit, then the harvest is mature. Many people get excited about faith. Sometimes those who get excited go out beyond their level of faith.

That's what happened to Peter when he jumped out of the boat to walk on the water. He was not ready for water-walking faith. But he saw Jesus walking on the water. Peter in his excitement said, "Lord, if it be You, bid me to come"

What could Jesus say? He couldn't say, "No, it's not Me. Forget it, Peter, you're not ready to walk on water" Anything He said other than "come" would have been a lie. Even if He didn't answer at all, it would still have been a lie, for it really was Jesus. All Jesus did was answer Peter's question when he said, "Come"

Peter did walk on the water. But his faith was not developed to the point that he was able to hold fast to that Word of faith ["Come"]; he became involved with the circumstances. When he did, he began to sink. Faith left him. Many people have gotten excited about faith because of some story someone told. They said, "This is the way it happened to me, and it all worked out good" But that person was operating at his level of development. It may be disastrous for you to do the same thing.

Peter got excited and tried to operate beyond his level of faith. Jesus didn't intend for that to happen. Peter forced Him into it. You may have done the same thing. You said "Lord, if it's your will for me to do this, then let this other thing happen to prove Your will".

It was God's will for you to do that, but it wasn't God's will for the other to happen. You forced God into a bad situation. You painted yourself into a corner, so to speak.

Lessons From Geese and Ducks in their Seasonal Migration

Many land birds migrate long distances involves flying north to breed in the temperate or Arctic summer and returning to wintering grounds in warmer regions to the south. Many of the larger birds fly in flocks. Flying in flocks helps in reducing the energy needed in a V-formation. God's creation continue to amazes me.

Without modern calendar alarms and accurate compass, the birds are able to take-off and land base on their "intuition" to the nature - seasonal change and landscape formation. How we long for the intuition to align our life focus in family and jobs according to His will!!

Abba Father, we thirst for the spiritual intuition of your will in our life. Guide us to take up and release the responsibility you wish us to engage in the right seasons. Grant us the wings and wind to fly higher and farther in whatever we do to glorify your name. Sharpen our vision so we can see the promising land even in the heavy cloud and storms. Humble our hearts to help others who are lost during the journey. Thank you Lord for granting our desire to be a more spiritual intuitive marketplace practitioner. Amen.

Jairus Spoke the Solution

Mark 5: 22-24  And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him (Jesus), he fell at his feet, and besought him greatly saying. My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

Here Jairus has made a great faith statement. His daughter is not dead, but she is at the point of death. Jairus establishes that when Jesus lays His hands on his daughter, she shall be healed and she shall live. He established this by his faith-filled words. It is this faith which caused Jesus to leave the multitude and follow Jairus.

But on the way, a woman with an issue of blood comes on the scene. She touches Jesus' garment, receives her healing, then gives her testimony. All this could have taken an hour. Meanwhile, Jairus is still waiting for Jesus to heal his daughter. There has been a delay - a costly delay - and I'm sure that Jairus was getting quite anxious!

Then Jesus explains to the woman that it was her faith which made her whole, v35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

Thy daughter is dead. The very thing that Jairus knew could happen had happened! It couldn't have been any worse. His daughter was dead! Regardless of all he had believed, regardless of all the faith statements and confessions he had made, he gets the bad news.

Though Jairus had spoken good things, bad things had come his way. v36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afrid, only believe. Jairus was obedient to the instruction of Jesus.

If Jairus had allowed fear to come and had spoken what was on his mind, he probably would have said, "Jesus, if You hadn't stopped to heal that woman, You would have been there in time to heal my daughter!" Jairus would have gotten into strife, and they would have held a funeral a few days later.

But notice that Jairus didn't speak a word. Not one word proceeded from his mouth. We can learn from this. When things go wrong, when it looks like it's not going to work, when your faith is low, when all hell has broken loose against you and against your confession of faith, just zip your lip!

That is not the time to try to make some faith confessions. It is the time to rest in what you have already said - the words you spoke a few days before when your faith was high, when your Word level was high, when it looked like it was impossible for you to doubt that what you were saying would come to pass.

When the pressue is on, when the trouble and bad news have come, when it looks  like nothing will help, when it seems that all hope is lost - that is the time to exercise the vocabulary of silence. Speak nothing! More than likely, if you try to make a confession at that point, you will speak words of fear instead of faith.

Jairus, a few hours before, had his mouth filled with the solution - the answer to his problem, he had established it in faith, But by this time, if he had asked somebody, "What will I do now? What's your opinion of this situation?" they would surely have told him, "It's too late, Jairus. Forget it! You've lost the battle, It's all over!"

But thank God, Jairus didn't ask for anyone's opinion. Anything that he spoke in his situation would have been to affirm the solution instead of the problem. But the prople around him wouldn't have understood, so he chose to be silent.

The end result of the whole matter was that his daughter was raised to life again. The words Jairus established in the beginning were fulfilled to the very letter!

When you speak the solution, calling those things that are not as though they were, people in the wolrd won't understand. Just keep your eyes on Jesus, not on people's opinions. Disregard people's opinions and continue to speak the solution.

Speak to the Problem

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by the root and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you

The sycamine tree in this scripture is the problem, the circumstance, the situation that stands between you and your destination.

Jesus and the apostles were probably walking down a trail or a pathway and came upon a sycamine tree in the middle of the trail. It was an obstacle before them which they has to deal with in some way. Jesus used it as an object lesson.

He did not say, "If you had faith as a seed you would pray that God would move that obstacle before you. Then if you pray and cry and beg long enough, if you promise to be good and pay your tithes, then God will pluck it up for you and cast it into the sea."

No, He said, "Speak to it, and it will obey you"

The King James version says, "You might say to the tree .." The Greek New Testament says, "You would say". A stronger word is used in the Greek version, and it is the mopre accurate rendering in this instance. If you had faith as a seed, Jesus said you would speak to that sycamine tree [to that obstacle, that problem, that difficulty, that financial crisis you have been begging God to do something about]. So quit begging and crying, and speak to that thing. Say what you want done with it. Tell it to be plucked up by the root!

Jesus said it would obey you!

There is no great theological reason why Jesus said to speak to the tree; he simply said to do it! He is telling you exactly how to get the Kingdom principles to work for you. Your voice is the voice of authority in your part of the earth. Whatever you bind will be bound. Whatever you loose will be loosed. The power of binding and loosing is on earth. It is a Kingdom principle [Matt 16:17-19]

You Are Not A Failure

Another truth we need to embrace in our heart from aDevotion.org dated 13th May.

EPHESIANS 2:10 NIV

10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

You may have failed, but you are not a failure.

It is not the essence of what and who you are. Failure is just something that happened to you.

God created you, and He made you able to do good. Maybe you have not yet discovered what you were created for, but God has a plan for you. When you fit into God's plan you will find that God truly made you "a work of His art."

A donkey could compare itself to a race horse and think it was a failure. But a donkey was created for other things than running fast.

Find out what you were created to be and do. Then rejoice as you do it.

SAY THIS: I am God's unique work of art -- still in progress.

Instruction For Success

I was inspired by the aDevotion.org message dated 12 Apr 2008.

Steps to follow:
1. Speak out your desire for your victory
2. Meditate God's words about promises for you
3. Action through prayers and positive thinking while waiting

Below is the full text from aDevotion.org:

JOSHUA 1:8 NIV
8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

If you desire to succeed, here are the instructions.

You may follow other plans that promise success, but you have no guarantee they will work long-term. People may give you advice that works for awhile -- but can you be sure it will not fail you someday?

With God you have an eternal guarantee: His Word will never fail. Heaven and earth will disappear before even the smallest detail of God's Word will fail.

Look at God's success instructions again. Study them in detail. Surely if anything is worth your time, this promise of God is.

First, speak in line with God's Word. Isn't it interesting that the first instruction from God for success has to do with what you say? Some people proclaim that what you say doesn't matter, but God puts it at the top of the list.

Second, meditate on what God said. This is the opposite of worry. This is more than just reading the Bible. (Although if you never read it, how could you meditate on it?) This is thinking about what God says and how it affects everything.

When are we to think about God and His Word? When it is day, or when it is night. Any other time, you can safely shut God out of your thoughts.

Look at what God promises will be yours if you follow these instructions: prosperity and success. What everyone wants, but few are willing to do what it takes to achieve.

Of course you can ignore these instructions. But why would you?

SAY THIS: I will speak God's Word, meditate on it, and act on it. Then God promises I will be prosperous and successful.

WOW - Walking on Water

A lesson that we can learn from the familiar event in the Bible..

Matt14 : 25-32 [Amp]
25 And in the fourth watch [between 3 - 6am] of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea
26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, It is a ghost! And they screamed out with fright
27 But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid!
28 And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water
29 He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus
30 But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]
31 Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and caught and held him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?
32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

Let's ponder :
1. What is my boat [fear and comfort that keep me from trusting God]
2. Discernment in order to get out of the boat
3. Risk to take for faith to grow?
4. Failure from past that haunts us
5. Where am I in relation to Jesus
     a. Huddled in the boat
     b. One leg in, one leg out
     c. WOW
     d. Out of the boat, but the wind looks bad

Seek God's face

Today had an interesting discussion with a brother-in-christ on the said subject. I google the Internet and found this article is extremely useful for many of us today. Be blessed!

http://www.toddtyszka.com/seekface.html

Psa 27:4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

Psa 34:10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

Psa 69:6 May those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me, O Lord, the LORD Almighty; may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel.

Psa 105:3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

Psa 119:10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.

Authority

NKJ Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and OVER ALL THE POWER of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Many christians do not understand and realise we are already given the authority to trample on enemy's power. Why our prayers don't work? The question we really need to ask is: Are we equipped with the power of God's words in the first place?

God's has given the authority in our hands, but we have no sharp sword to fight against the enemy! For example, a traffic police without proper training and equipped with the basic skills, is unable to police a busy junction even in the authoritative uniform.

Abba Father, I thank you for the revelation of your simple truth, and your desire for our success in our daily life. I'll commit my time and equip myself in your words daily, and strengthen us by exercising our autority over enemy's scheme in every situation. In Jesus name, Amen.

Forgive Yourself (from aDevition.org 1/3/08)

1 JOHN 2:12 NLT
I am writing to you who are God's children because your sins
have been forgiven through Jesus.

COLOSSIANS 3:13 NIV
13 . . . Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

GALATIANS 5:14 NIV
14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your
neighbor as yourself."

For many people, the hardest person to forgive is themselves.

If God can forgive us, then we can, and must, forgive
ourselves. Not to forgive ourselves is to exalt ourselves above
God.

If God can decree that we are forgive-able, but we say we are
too bad to be forgiven, we are saying we know more than God.

Should your standards be higher than God's standards? He
forgives. Why won't you forgive yourself?

The devil wants you to stay focused on your past and your
failures, so you will not receive God's blessing.

God wants you to believe His Word and focus on His victory so
you will have a better future.

Which one will you choose to follow?

SAY THIS: Because God has forgiven me, I forgive myself.

Happiness Paradox - Matthew Kelly

There are four aspects to the human person: physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual
Physically,  when you exercise regularly, sleep regularly, eat the right sorts of foods, and balance your diet, how do you feel. You feel fantastic. You feel more alive. You're healthier, happier, and you have a richer, more abundant experience of life.

Emotionally,  when you give focus and priority to your relationships, what happens? You switch the focus off yourself and onto others. As you do, your ability to love increases . . . and as your ability to love increases, your ability to be loved increases. You become more aware of yourself, develop a more balanced view of life, and experience a deeper sense of fulfillment. You're healthier. You're happier.

Intellectually,  when you take ten or fifteen minutes a day to read a good book, what happens? Your vision of yourself expands; your vision of the world expands. You become more focused, more alert, and more vibrant. Clarity replaces confusion. You feel more fully alive, and you are happier.

Spiritually,  when you take a few moments each day to step into the classroom of silence and reconnect with yourself and with your God, what happens? The gentle voice within grows stronger, and you develop a deeper sense of peace, purpose, and direction. You're healthier, you're happier, and you have a richer experience of life.

Physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually, we know the things that infuse our lives with passion and enthusiasm. We know the things that make us happy. We just don't do them!

On the one hand, we all want to be happy. On the other hand, we all know the things that make us happy. But we don't do those tings. Why? Simple. We are too busy. Too busy doing what? Too busy trying to be happy.

This is the paradox of happiness that has bewitched our age.

Don't Grow Weary

Yesterday's sermon of Mat 6:33 and today's daily devotion message "Don't Grow Weary" from www.adevotion.org truly reminded me of His unfinished business.

"God has a harvest of blessing in mind for you. Don't let the devil steal it away from you by discouraging you into giving up. Trust in God. He is able to put you over. Time has a way of wearing us down -- of eroding our hopes and dreams. We must look to God for strength and courage and refuse discouragement. We must, with God's help, overcome -- instead of being overcome by life and circumstances." - 14th Jan "Don't Grow Weary" from www.adevotion.org

Each time He delivers us out of our battle, we tend to get comfortable quickly and easily dwell in the new comfort zone that is not very far from Israelites 40-year desert run in nature. We sometimes even re-pay His goodness by serving Him without joy.

God wants us to serve Him and empower us to face our day with JOY and PLEASURE. Are you able to identify what the devil has robbed your joy in your job, family and ministry? Until we found the joy and pleasure to serve Him and for Him, He is unable to manifest His glory in our lives!

Abba Father, thank you for your unfailing love for us. Help us to refocus our lives upon your words. Your grace is sufficient for us, we will not be discouraged as we are the victors chosen by You. We'll overcome every situations and take pleasure and joy in our daily chores. May Your glory manifest in our lives. In Jesus name, Amen
